Meet the team: Hailemichael Nigatu, Java Developer
Our meet the team series is a chance for you to gain bit of insight into who Swedwise are, and what makes us tick. Meet Hailemichael Nigatu, Java Developer and Systems Integration expert.
What’s your story?
I’m from Ethiopia, and moved to Sweden to study. Then it was the usual story of falling in love, getting married and Sweden becoming my new home. Prior to working with Systems Integration, I worked with Telecommunications and even Electrical Power Transmission Design. It doesn’t get anymore random.
How did you become a Swedwise consultant?
Swedwise was looking for a developer to help customers with MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform. I felt they were offering the best the opportunity for interesting projects. So, I said to myself, this is the place, go for it. And here I am!
When did you first know that you wanted to be a developer?
I have always enjoyed solving problems to help as far as I remember. I used to enjoy (well even now) taking apart and rebuilding electronic equipment. But the real interest of working in IT and programming really took off in high school.
What’s the best piece of advice someone has ever given you?
Never have a strong belief that you are right, because there are a lot of rights out there from other perspectives.
Who do you admire? Heroes?
There’s a few: Mark Zuckerberg and how he changed his hobby project to world-class application most of us use in our every-day life. Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi who fought against injustice peacefully, what’s IT without humanity after all.
Outside of work interests besides taking apart old electronics?
I like to play football and go to the gym. Training helps me feel good and work effectively.
Why would you recommend Swedwise to companies or other consultants?
To companies I would say that Swedwise is a company where you will find experienced, open-minded and flexible workers. To consultants, I would say that Swedwise is a place where you will develop your competence by participating in various interesting client projects and internal labs. That’s in addition to the enjoyable internal activities for team members.
Thanks for your time!
