Beyond the Hype: Leveraging AI for Transformative Success

Automated Information Management makes data better. And the better the data, the better the AI. How will AI influence your business? How can it help you grow? Unlock the full potential of AI in your organisation.

Generative AI (GenAI) is suddenly on everyone’s radar. The swift rise of interest in GenAI platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Co-pilot, and Google’s Gemini is generating increased curiosity in a wider array of AI technologies.

AI is fast moving from a transformational requirement to a strategic cornerstone. Among large enterprises, GenAI takes the lead as the most anticipated technology in the upcoming year, surpassing security, with a 40% preference compared to 31%, as reported by the Foundry study. Expectations are high that AI will help revamp how people and processes work across many departments, including risk and compliance, sales and marketing, and supply chain and manufacturing.

Challenges and Opportunities in AI Adoption

However, the Cisco AI Readiness Index report reveals that 53% of businesses in Sweden feel unable to leverage the full potential of AI due to scattered data. Additionally, concerns about bias in AI models and limited understanding of algorithmic decision-making processes are prevalent, underlining the critical role of robust data management in AI success.

The report highlights four challenges related to information management that organisations face:

• Matching organizational data with the right AI models (67%)
• Keeping proprietary data protected (65%)
• Lack of confidence in results due to inaccuracies in public data (58%)
• Extracting the right organisational data (56%)

Building an AI Strategy

To address these concerns, organisations must become more adept at connecting, managing, and extracting value from their information to fuel faster, smarter growth. But where should they start? No matter where you are in your AI journey, transforming into a genuinely AI-capable enterprise requires leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and experimentation. In the context of a value-creating AI strategy, one should have a clear vision, research which model approach is right for your organisation, understand and mitigate the risks, and remove any barriers that could hinder success.¹

AI Strategy Implementation Framework

While the answer to these questions will be different in each industry and for each organisation, your business can employ the following framework to get beyond AI hype to design solutions that advance business goals.²

1. Define the Problem: Clearly define the business problem AI aims to solve.
2. Consider Timeline: Assess when the organization is prepared to support an AI initiative.
3. Create a Roadmap: Develop a detailed plan for implementation, support, and KPIs.
4. Data, Algorithms, Infrastructure: Establish a robust data strategy, algorithm strategy, and infrastructure strategy for successful AI implementation.

To get the most out of GenAI investments, organisations need robust and secure Information Management that builds on sound information governance principles to deliver GenAI, which is both productive and safe with trusted data.
